Darla Woodward of California City passed away following a long and very difficult illness. Darla was born on August 17, 1953 in Orange, Calif. and passed away on February 22, 2018 in Lancaster, Calif. She had been a resident of Kern County for well over 50 years.
Darla attended and graduated from Mojave High School in 1971 and continued her education at AV College where she graduated with an AA in Business. Later in life she returned here and received an AA in Childhood Development.
While working at Edwards AFB she met the love of her life and married Woody in 1982. They had two sons and Darla was blessed to be a stay at home mother for many years. Later she returned to the work force and was employed by the Mojave Unified School District for over 16 years; most of those years she worked closely with the younger elementary school children. She always had a special place in her heart for the kids.
She was preceded in death by her parents David and Madalene Chambers (Kemplin); brother's Larry Chambers and Baby Alan Chambers. Darla is survived by her loving husband Woody; son's David and Brian; 3 grandchildren, Brianna, Audrey and Austin; sister, Donna Creamer and several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends that loved and cared for her.
Her greatest joy came from time spent with her grandchildren and children. She also enjoyed visits from friends and family. She is now at peace and resting in the promises of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Services will be held on Friday March 2, 2018 1:00 pm at First Southern Baptist Church in Mojave Caifornia.
