Casey Tanner "Carlos" Wendt, 27, of Baker City, died April 22, 2018. A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Baker Church of the Nazarene, 1250 Hughes Lane. There will be a reception afterward at the church. Burial will be at the Haines Cemetery.
Carlos was born on October 5, 1990, in La Grande, Oregon to Clint Wendt and Monette Chappel of Haines. He attended Powder Valley School and Walla Walla Community College. He married Dusty Wendt and was employed by the Chandler Hereford Ranch.
Carlos was a member of the state champion basketball team, 4-H and FFA and he played football. He was a dreamer and a protector, his family said. His proudest achievement was being a husband and father, and the best friend, brother, uncle and son anyone could ask for, his family said.
Carlos is survived by his wife, Dusty; children, Khyla and Tavi of Baker City, OR; parents, Clint Wendt and Monette Chappel of Haines, OR; sisters, Mandy Clark (Brandon) of Baker City, OR and Trista Janzen (Cody) of Banks, OR; brother, Shae Wendt of San Diego, CA; 10 nieces and nephews and numerous aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by grandfather, Carl Wendt, grandfather, Patrick Flynn and sister, Megan Wendt.
