Harry Simons, 19, of Priory Road, Hethersett, died on March 21 on North Walsham Road in Thorpe Market.
He was driving a Vauxhall Corsa at the time of the accident (around 7.50am) and died at the scene, according to Norfolk Police.
The accident took place near to the junction with the B1436, between Cromer and North Walsham, and involved a Hyundai Tuscan and Vauxhall Corsa.
Mr Simons' cause of death was multiple injuries due to a road traffic collision, according to area coroner Yvonne Blake.
She opened and adjourned the inquest today at Carrow House, Norwich, while Norfolk Police prepares a report.
A full hearing will take place on September 10 at Carrow House.
A woman who was driving the Hyundai was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital with serious injuries, police said.
Emergency services, including police officers, firefighters and paramedics were called to the accident which closed the road for several hours.
