Karolyn Cheyanne Williams (Shannie), 20 was born September 3rd, 1997 in American Fork, UT. Shannie came to her adoptive parents B. Scott and Cheryl Williams at the age of 14 months, via foster care. She was their youngest daughter and loved beyond measure. She lived in Provo, UT until the age of 7 when she moved to Eagle Mountain, UT. Shannie graduated from Rockwell High School in 2016.

Shannie fought a long and courageous battle with depression, anxiety and other mental health related challenges, sadly her challenges became unbearable and felt too immense to keep fighting on June 14th, 2018 where she was found unresponsive at her apartment in Orem, UT.

Shannie was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She tried to make everyone happy and bring a smile to their face and always took time to listen and lift others. She would have given anything to anyone. It didn't matter who they were, what they looked like or their circumstances, she truly tried to make the world a better place. Shannie believed there was worth in everyone, no matter their habits or what they had done, that everyone has some measure of beauty and worth. She emulated true love and acceptance – the one thing she deeply craved for herself.

Shannie brought so much joy into the lives of others. Many will remember her fun, funny quirky sense of humor, her contagious laugh or ridiculous jokes. She had her own sense of style and no awkwardness in showing it. She felt life was meant to be happy and certainly was not shy about instigating a good practical joke. She was an avid lover of Batman, and all things super hero. She loved music, acting and drama and one her ultimate favorites was Billy Joel. When the life stressors she couldn't change became great, she would lean on the song "Let it Be" by the Beatles.

Shannie loved animals as much, if not more than people and much of her life she had dreamed of being a vet. She was forever bringing home stray animals, much to the consternation of her mother. Finally, the love of her life showed up at the airport as a gift from our dear friend Sharron, in the form of a curly-hair adorable puppy she named Teddy. This little scamp has become a therapy dog for us all.

Shannie had a great love for her Savior Jesus Christ and a firm testimony of our Heavenly Father's plan. She was not afraid to share her beliefs or testimony with anyone anywhere. She loved girls camp, her Young Women's leaders, and weeks at EFY. She just loved people.

Shannie was survived by her parents B. Scott and Cheryl Williams. Sisters Kylie Nicole (Nick) Walther, Karista Williams and brothers Kollin Jacob (Krystal) Williams, Kolby Scott Williams, Kelly Kendrick Williams, and Kade Arthur Williams. She adored her nieces Alice Nicole Walther, Kaizlee Joy Williams and was looking forward to Kathryn Jennifer's arrival in August.

She was preceded in death by her birth mother Tara Evans, her grandparents, Fred Arthur Skeem, Elva Webb Skeem, Harry Williams, her namesake Carolyn Joyce Williams and Grandma Vi our long-time nanny and adopted grandma. She was heartbroken at the loss of her first nephew Nicholas Alexander Walther, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, honor Shannie's memory by seeking to accept people for who they are and love them anyway. Think twice before saying unkind words and reach out to others to care for and lift their burdens. Remember people for the good they do and not the mistakes they made. Leave judgement to the only One who know a person's full circumstances and who's place it is to judge, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Live each day of your life to its fullest and truly strive to make the world a better place.
