The parents of Yusuf Sonko who died after being shot in Toxteth in June this year have issued an open letter this Christmas appealing for people to come forward with information.

Eighteen year-old Yusuf was found injured on Tagus Street, at the rear of shops on Lodge Lane, on the evening of Friday 2 June. He was taken to hospital but died a short while later.

An investigation is currently underway and detectives have appealed for 22-year-old Jason Curry to contact them as they believe that he may have information that could help them with their inquiries.

Khadija and Papice Sonko have written the letter as families prepare to spend time with their loved ones during the festive season.
