The Jackson Police Department has arrested a man on a felon in possession of a firearm charge in connection with a shooting that killed the father of a reality TV star.

Christal Summers, 34, was shot several times in the parking lot of the Laxmi gas station on Terry Road. Witnesses said an argument led to the Jan. 15 shooting. Summers, a local rapper, is the father of Crystiana Summers, who is a member of the "Dancing Dolls," a dance team featured on the Lifetime series "Bring It."

Investigators have examined surveillance video of the shooting, but have not released it to the media because it's too graphic.

Jonathan Kelly, 23, was arrested Friday in connection with the case.

"Right now, it's going to be a convicted felon in possession of a handgun. The information that we have right now is whether this is going to be a justified shooting or not," Chief Lee Vance said.
