SIDNEY - Gwendolyn Marie Christianson, of Sidney, was born on October 28, 1975, in Augusta to Charles Thomas (Tom) Christianson & Cynthia M. (Graves) Barna. Gwen passed away on July 9, 2018, after a heroic fight with cancer.

She graduated from Messalonskee High School in 1994, and then worked for the Wal-Mart/Sam's Club cooperation for 23 years. She worked in the states of Maine, Alaska, and Virginia.

On June 1, 2000 Victoria Marie was born!! Victoria has and will always will be the love of Gwen's life. Gwen also loved spending time with her family and her friends. Family was the most important thing to her. Some of Gwen's favorite memories are of helping her Dad make jelly, spending time on the Christianson farm milking the cows, picking potato bugs with Grandpa Graves, and enjoying the summer rental cottages with the Graves playing Yahtzee!! Gwen was always keeping everyone in line, and she organized many different events. Gwen's hobbies included making crafts and scrapbooking.

Gwen strove to keep every day as positive as she could throughout the battles that life threw at her.

Gwen is preceded by her great grandparents, Embert and Josephine Stevens, and Leon Higgins; her grandparents Carl G. Christianson, Greta E. (Wales) Christianson and Josephine (Stevens) Christianson; her grandpa Donald W. Graves, Welman Hupper & Madeline (Bradford) Hupper; her sister-in-law Tammy S. (Weeks) Christianson and Uncle Albert G. Christianson.

Gwen is survived by her beautiful daughter Victoria Marie Christianson of Sidney. Parents Charles (Tom) & Ethelyn M. (Hupper) Christianson of Sidney. Cynthia M. (Graves) Barna of Sidney. Her AMAZING brothers Charles Thomas (Tom) II and wife Susan Christianson of Rome; Nathan W. Christianson and fiancee Karen K. Roxby of Sidney. Niece Shelby L. Christianson of Rome. Her Grandmother Marie (Higgins) Graves of Sidney. Uncles Carl & Gail Christianson of Rutland, MA, James & Deanna Christianson of Mt Vernon, Paul & Doreen of Readfield, Joesph & Susan Christianson of T6-R8, Daniel Christianson of Readfield, Gerald & Darlene Graves of Sidney, Elvin & Christine Hupper of Friendship. Aunts Janie D. Graves of Quincy, MA and Holly (Christianson) & Scott Lanpher of Manchester. "Bestie" Michelle (Breton) & family Ryan, Terri & Christopher Hayden of Manchester, NH, and Neeka Earle of Raymond, NH. There are so many cousins, great aunts and uncles, and there are so many loving and supportive friends and coworkers.

Thank you to all of the staff at the Alfond Cancer Center and the Maine General Hospice team.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 10:00am at the Augusta Church of the Nazarene, 30 Nazarene Drive, Augusta. Refreshments will follow. A private family burial will be held at a time to be announced.
