Galen Scott Suppes
March 24, 1961 - July 23, 2011

Scott Suppes, 50, of Panama City, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2011. He was born in Scott City, Kan., and had lived in Bay County since 1983. Scott served his country as a Preventive Medicine Specialist in the US Army for 8 years, serving during Desert Storm. He later worked as a correction officer for CCA, and had been employed by FEMA after Hurricane Katrina. Scott enjoyed martial arts, physical fitness, studying history, and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.

Survivors include his daughter, Stephanie Nicole Suppes of Lynn Haven; his granddaughter, Alayna Bentley of Lynn Haven; his stepdaughter, Taylor Richardson of Chipley; his parents, Robert Lee and Della Suppes of LaCrosse, Kan.; 2 brothers, Jim Suppes of Hutchinson, Kan., and Tom Suppes of Colorado Springs, Colo.; his former wife, Melony Rogers of Chipley; his former in-laws, Jerry and Juanita Taylor, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, August 1, 2011, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Southport Memorial Gardens with military honors offered by the US Army. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Sunday, July 31. Asked to serve as pallbearers are Jerry Taylor, Terry Young, Sr., Terry Young, Jr., Justin Guthrie, Jason Crowder, Tom Suppes and Alfred Miller.
