Robert Jesse Maple, of Brooklyn, NY, passed away on August 3, 2018 at age 33.
Jesse graduated from Lafayette High School in 2003 where he was the Missouri State Diving champion. In 2008, he graduated from University of Minnesota with a Bachelors degree in French and Journalism. He spent a year studying in Paris, and upon return in 2013 he received a masters degree in Sports Management from Amherst College, where he coached their mens diving team. After years of working for top fashion photographers, agencies and casting companies, Jesse was most recently a successful self-employed Casting Director in the Fashion industry, working in New York, London and Paris.
More than what he did, we want to share who he was. Jesse had a mysterious, complex and inquisitive mind. He had an opinion about everything and accepted nothing without thought. He was a painfully beautiful man who loved beautiful things, beautiful minds, beautiful faces, and beautiful places. He loved his people. He loved his friends. He loved his family. He loved his city. He loved life. And in true Jesse style, he went out on top.
Jesse was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bob Maple and his cousin, Tylor Tayrien. He is survived by his parents, Rusty and Kim; sister, Kelley Maple; brother, David Maple (Emily) ; Grandmother, Ruth Maple; Grandparents Jess and Paula Gibson and MaryAnn and Leroy Atencio; nieces Adalena Jones and Ava Maple; and nephews, Kelton Jones and Barrett Maple. Additionally, he will be forever loved and remembered by his extended family including cousins, aunts and uncles and his community of friends in New York.
