The 26-year-old man who died after he was attacked by a shark in Cape Cod Saturday has been identified by authorities as Arthur Medici of Revere.

Medici and another man were about 30 yards off Newcomb Hollow beach when the attacked occurred. Medici was boogie boarding at the time.

The shark attack took place around noon.

WCVB News reports Medici was born in Brazil and came to the United States to go to college. He was with his girlfriend's brother at the time of the shark attack.

According to Medici's Facebook page, he was employed at Capital Grille in Burlington and he studied at Bunker Hill Community College. He listed himself as "in a relationship."

This was the second shark attack on Cape Cod this year. The death is the first fatal shark attack in Massachusetts since 1936.
