Curtis LeMair, the Northern State University wrestler who was found dead in his dorm room Wednesday morning, Oct. 17, likely died from an undetected genetic heart condition, according to initial autopsy results reported by Aberdeen American News Friday.

Emergency responders were called to LeMair's dorm around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, where a coroner pronounced him dead at the scene.


Prior to attending Northern State University, LeMair, 18, grew up in Shakopee, Minn., and was a standout wrestler at Prior Lake High School.

LeMair was a 3-time Minnesota Christmas Tournament place winner and a 2-time All-American in Fargo's annual USA Wrestling tournament in the category of Greco-Roman.

Before his death, LeMair was a freshman on the NSU wrestling team.
