The Edgefield County Sheriff's Office is still investigating after the body of a missing Edgefield man was found in the woods earlier this month.

Wade Lamar Brannon, 48, was last seen on Sept. 6 and reported missing some time after that, said Cpl. Rob Harter, with the Edgefield County Sheriff's Office.


On Oct. 15, Brannon's body was discovered in a wooded area off Knights Lane, Harter said.

The Edgefield County Coroner's Office said Brannon was killed due to a bullet wound to the head.

Investigators still have no suspects and continue to work to figure out what happened to Brannon, Harter said.
