Nischa C. Janssen
1979-2017
On Saturday January 14, 2017 at 1:10 PM, a nonstop flight departed Houston destined for heaven. Nischa assisted all passengers to their seats, smiled and told jokes in the aisle, and made sure that everyone on board was happy, safe and cared for all the way.
Nischa Marie Casebolt was born October 30th, 1979 in Corpus Christi, TX. She was the daughter of Adriene Anderson and John Roaf, and loving wife of 5 years to her husband Brian Janssen. She is survived by her mother Adriene and stepfather John, her husband Brian, her aunts Flora and Audrey, her grandmother Margaret, and cousins Sal, Shea, Sarah, Chanel, Sabrina, Buddy, Mari and John.
Nischa attended high school at Incarnate Word Academy in Houston, TX where she forged lifelong friendships with Shannon, Heather, Troi, Khristine and Nicole among others. Nischa earned her bachelors degree in History from the University of Texas at Austin, where she enthusiastically took classes from every corner of the course catalog in an attempt to satisfy her curiosity about the world around her. In 2005 Nischa answered her calling and became a flight attendant for Continental Airlines, which afforded her the opportunity to fulfill her dreams of living in New York City and seeing every corner of the world. Nischa lived an extraordinary 37 years on Earth and every individual she encountered is better for knowing her, without exception.
A memorial for family and friends will be held Thursday January 19th beginning at 12:30 PM at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX, 77079 with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society in her name.
