Darlington County Sheriff's Investigators continue to investigate an overnight shooting that resulted in the death of a Lamar woman.

According to Darlington County Coroner Todd Hardee, 41-year-old Bartina Robinson died as the result of a gunshot wound. Her death has been ruled a homicide.

DCSO investigators say the suspect, 39-year-old Larry Roger Allen Carroway, shot and killed Robinson while both were in a vehicle traveling on East Bobo Newsom Hwy. near Hartsville.

Carroway drove the victim to a local hospital and fled after dropping the victim off, a press release said.

Deputies were called to the hospital around 9:50 p.m. about Robinson being dropped off with a gunshot wound.

"Based on witness statements and other evidence, Investigators were able to obtained warrants for the arrest of Larry Roger Allen Carroway, 39, of Wedgefield, S.C., for voluntary manslaughter, possession of a firearm by a convicted violent felon and possession of a weapon during a violent crime," said Sheriff Tony Chavis.
