An 18-year-man killed in a drive-by shooting in Rexdale Wednesday night has been identified.

Toronto police say he was walking on Redwater Drive near Elmhurst Drive and Islington Avenue when a dark-coloured vehicle pulled up beside him and a gunman inside fired several shots.

The victim tried to run away but he collapsed at the scene.

Paramedics transported the 18-year-old victim to hospital via an emergency run, where he later died.


He has been identified as Aseel Yehya of Toronto.

Police said several men were seen fleeing the scene in a black car, but there's no word on suspect descriptions at this time.
