Last night's high speed chase suspect that lead law enforcement through multiple parishes has been identified as Jason Hill, 37, of Texas City, Texas.

Troopers believe that Hill died from a self inflicted gunshot wound.

According to Iberville Parish Sheriff Brett Stassi, Hill was wanted after an alleged domestic issue with his wife. He was driving over 80 mph on the interstate when deputies were called.

State Police dropped road spikes in an attempt to stop the truck. Hill dodged the first set but was stopped with a second set of spikes. When police surrounded the truck on I-10 Sheriff Stassi reported they heard a single gunshot.

Detectives from the Lafayette Police department will investigate the incident along with Sate Police.
