Late Friday morning, the Coroner identified 19-year-old Palisade man, Kaleb Hill after he was fatally struck in a motorcycle crash on 70 Freeway.

According to official reports, a Jeep was heading east on the business loop of the freeway, and was making a left turn when Hill struck the vehicle on his motorcycle. Medics and state troopers responded to the scene near East ½ Road just before noon, after receiving calls about a car and motorcycle colliding in the area.

Due to the impact of the crash, Hill suffered too many blunt forces and was pronounced dead by medics on scene. He was allegedly wearing a helmet, and his toxicology results were negative. Colorado State Officials say there were two occupants in the Jeep at the time of the accident, and neither of them sustained injuries. Their identities have not been disclosed to the public at this time.

Westbound I-70BL was shut down in the area of the collision for cleanup and preliminary investigation, but has since reopened. No further information has been released, as the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
