The 21-year-old Loves Park man killed in a deadly motorcycle crash Sunday afternoon in Durand has been identified.

Winnebago County Coroner William Hintz identified him as Griffin Allen, 21. According to Hintz, he died of blunt force trauma to the chest sustained in the crash.

The Winnebago County Sheriff's Office says Allen was riding near the intersection of Eicks Road and Rock Grove Road around 4:15 p.m Sunday afternoon when he lost control and hit a guard rail.

He was taken to a Rockford hospital where he was pronounced dead.

There has been no word from investigators on what may have caused Allen to lose control.
