Update on Stacy:
On Tuesday, Stacy started vomiting and became weak. She was taken to KCH and transferred to IU Methodist after scans revealed a brain bleed near the tumor and blood clot she already had. This is a serious but common complication of Glioblastoma. Her doctor has been very straightforward about what this means - treating one problem will make the other ones worse. With this in mind, Stacy decided she wanted to be at home and kept comfortable. Our focus is on making her comfortable, managing her pain and keeping her home with her daughter, Alice. She returned home late Friday night (yesterday) and is receiving care from Heartland Hospice and family. We will keep you all updated when and if she would like visitors. We are still settling her in and working to create a peaceful environment for her.
