Michael Hoefs, 44, of Santa Clarita, has been identified as the man who was killed in a traffic collision on Saturday afternoon in Saugus, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner?s Office.

The deadly single-vehicle accident transpired at about 4:00 p.m., on August 15, near Bouquet Canyon Road and Texas Canyon Road.

According to the police, an SUV crashed into a tree in unclear circumstances.

One person was reportedly trapped in the vehicle. The first responders extricated the patient.

Sadly, Hoefs was pronounced dead at the scene.

The extricated patient was transported to a hospital in an unknown condition.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
