The body of a Day County woman, missing since December 2020, was found on Jan. 29 in northeastern South Dakota.

The Day County Sheriff's Office confirmed that Amy Dougherty's body and black, 2002 Chevy Trailblazer were recovered on Friday in a slough just west of Bristol.

The 46-year-old had been missing since Dec. 23, 2020, when she left her home in Andover for her job in Bristol during a blizzard.

Doughterty's sister posted on Facebook, saying her sister was recovered from the water.
