Sherman Oaks, California (February 9, 2021) ? Joshua Ajer, 33, of Ventura, has been identified as the motorist who was killed in a suspected DUI car crash in Sherman Oaks early Monday morning.
According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of the Ventura (101) Freeway at Van Nuys Boulevard at about 1:50 a.m. February 8.
An SUV is reported to have crashed into a semi truck that was stopped in the No. 4 lane with what the driver claimed were mechanical issues.
The SUV burst into flames after the collision.
Ajer, who was alone in the SUV, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The truck driver, identified as 29-year-old Michael Snee of Beverly Hills, was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
