The collision occurred shortly after 7 p.m. on County Road 33980, north of Gate 2 Road. A man died and a woman was critically injured Saturday when their car fell nearly 30 feet from an Eastside Street overpass and crashed upside down onto Interstate 5. The 2002 Honda Civic struck the curb and sidewalk of the southbound lane of Eastside, which becomes an I-5 overpass at that location. The car vaulted into the air and over the guardrail, landing on its top about 30 feet below on the far right northbound lane of I-5, the patrol said. A speeding car driven by a naked woman high on drugs hit and killed a pedestrian in the New York City borough of Staten Island, before flipping over and stopping in a parking lot, authorities said on Thursday. The driver, Taliyah Taylor, 24, of Staten Island, was uninjured in Wednesday's crash and pulled from the upside-down car with no clothes on by employees of a nearby hardware store, said William Smith, spokesman for the Staten Island District Attorney's office. read more...

Adam Hylan (18) and a friend were killed when their car hit a tree
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the teenagers were riding in a 1994 Pontiac being driven by Adam Hylan. The vehicle was southbound in the 600blk of John Anderson Dr. and failed to negotiate a curve. The driver lost control and the vehicle slid off of the west shoulder of the road striking a large oak tree and ejecting all occupants. Adam Hyland was pronounced dead at the scene. The Hubler brothers were transported to Halifax Hospital but Christopher was pronounced dead a short time later. Excessive speed is believed to have been a factor in the crash. A teenager and a young woman were killed Tuesday evening after the car they were riding in crossed a Route 22 median and collided with a Jeep. Police said Emily Greco, 16, and Jenna M. Piperato, 22, both of Alpha, were pronounced dead after the crash. It happened around 9:45 p.m last night on Foothill Boulevard just north of O'Connor Road. Officers say Patrick Mariano was driving south when he swerved to miss a dog, lost control and crashed into a tree. Mariano was injured. However, his passenger, 20-year-old Edgar Viernes, suffered major injuries and later died at a nearby hospital. read more...

His 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse wrapped around a utility pole moments after leaving Plano Senior High School for CiCi's Pizza at lunchtime. Sheriff's Deputies said James Darby, 17, of Liverpool, was headed north on Benham road in his 1998 Ford Taurus. Ryan Walker,19, of Auburn, was sitting in the front passenger seat and his brother, Justin, 17, was in the back. Deputies said they were going too fast when Darby lost control of the vehicle and skidded sideways off the road, hitting a tree. Justin was able to crawl out of the back. But rescue crews worked for hours to get the other two out. Ryan died at the scene and James died later at University Hospital.
